Calculating the difference between two dates
Days, months and years are not interchangeable
Months have 28 to 31 days and years have 365 or 366, so "one month" is not a fixed number of days. The tool calculates the difference in calendar years, months and days, plus the total in days, weeks and hours.
Is the start day counted?
By default the difference between the 1st and the 10th of a month is 9 days. In contracts and legal deadlines both ends are sometimes counted (10 days); check which rule applies to your case, since it changes the result by one.
Common uses
Working out contract length, days until a deadline, length of employment or a warranty period. Business days require subtracting weekends and public holidays, which varies by country.
